Kaohsiung is home to a complete steel structure supply chain. The Offshore Wind Power Component Localization Alliance (Wind-Team) led by China Steel Corporation and the Offshore Power Maritime Engineering Industry Alliance (Marine-Team) led by CSBC, in conjunction with well-developed port and transportation conditions, give Kaohsiung an advantage in developing the offshore wind power industry.
The Maritime Technology Innovation Centre, based in Kaohsiung, strives to build Taiwan's manufacturing capability and cultivate professionals in underwater foundation of offshore wind power, as well as develop research capacity for maritime technology, which will lead to the localization and independence of industry talent and fundamental.
